Join Cornelius Historic Preservation Committee members at 6 PM for a guided walking tour of historic Cornelius during the next 'Tawba Walk on Saturday, April 14.
The starting point for this tour, which is approximately 1 mile, is in front of Town Hall (21445 Catawba Avenue). Along the way you will learn about when and how the Town was incorporated, the Gem Yarn Mill, our Town's remaining cotton gin, the history of Cornelius Elementary and other sites of interest.
The Historic Preservation Committee invites everyone to participate in this tour to learn more about the rich history of Cornelius. The tour will last approximately 1 hour. Come early or stay late to enjoy everything the 'Tawba Walk has to offer!
The walking tour promotes the work of historic preservation, encourages exercise suitable for the entire family, educates townspeople, students, and visitors about the evolution of Cornelius, encourages activity in our town center, and introduces walkers to businesses along the walking route.
