This Beginner's Series is perfect for someone who is brand new to yoga or for a any student who wants to learn more about the fundamentals and correct postures.
This three part series will include:
Part One – Introduction
There are many misconceptions that surround the practice of yoga. We will explore the many reasons most do not begin and shed light on all the benefits of this practice. Flexibility is not a requirement!
Yoga is designed to fit YOU not the other way around so it is an appropriate practice for all ages, body types and levels of ability.
Part Two - Principles of Postures
In this segment we will explore the four main principles required for proper alignment in all poses. We will go through all pose types including standing, back bends, hip openers, forward bends and twists in a very gentle, instructional practice. You will be well prepared to take any level class and know how to modify a pose if necessary for your individual anatomy.
Part Three - Linking Breath & Movement
Here is where we put it all together! We will go through a full class sequence applying the principles taught in the previous segments and linking the breath through each pose. We will cover how to breath properly in all pose types leading to a practice that creates peace of mind, full body relaxation and becomes a moving meditation!
We will meet for three consecutive Saturdays, each session will be 2 hours. Sessions are April 28, May 5 & May 12.
The total cost for all three days is $60.
