In this 2-hour special class, we will begin with a Yin sequence, designed to open up the body by holding seated postures for 1 to 5 minutes. Although very passive and slow paced, this yin sequence creates a deep release in the connective tissues of the body and increases circulation in your joints to improve your overall flexibility and daily movement.
Often referenced to as a more meditative approach to yoga, Yin aims to put both your body and mind in a state of deep relaxation.
From this relaxed state, we will guide you through a yoga Nidra. Also known as "Yogic Sleep" – yoga Nidra is a set of verbal cues that lead you into the deepest levels of awareness and relaxation, similar to what you feel when you are drifting off to sleep, and are neither fully conscious, or completely asleep.
