The Non-Binary Support Group is a peer-led meeting intended to provide a welcoming environment conducive to inclusive, constructive personal and community development for non-binary folks of all stripes. This is meant to include but is not limited to; anyone identifying as non-binary, genderfluid, agender, genderqueer, gender non-conforming, questioning, or any of a spectrum of non-binary identities, including those who cannot articulate their identities. Folks are welcome to join the group at any point in the evening.
The general agenda: Doors open at 7 pm for casual/social time, and then we usually begin the actual session at around 7:10. We begin by going over rules and logistics (safety, etc.), and then everyone introduces themselves, giving their names and, if comfortable, pronouns. Then everyone gets a turn to share their thoughts if they so desire - attendees do not need to talk if they don't want to. As a support group, the intention is to hold space for people to talk about what they are thinking and what is going on in their lives, and to be heard and supported by fellow non-binary folks, but it is also intended to simply be a protected space - non-binary folks can simply come to the meetings just to be in that space and there is no obligation to join the discussion.
