This is a course for all those seeking a mature, artistic, unabashedly intellectual, approach to Western magic. It introduces magic as a radical form of art which can and should embrace modernity, while opening a door towards strange treasures. Over five nights we will look at magic as a craft embracing one’s full life, as a form of training mind and body, and as a vibrant and flexible creative worldview. It encompasses dream, psyche, creativity and embodied celebration. Each class focusses on a particular subject and builds on the previous, with a final integrative class in Week Five. Each session will be part talk, part guided discussion, part experiential exercises.
The tutors have been practising Western esoteric magic for over fifteen years. Their professional lives also draw upon, and feed into, esoteric engagements – they are friendly and creative, and longstanding friends of Treadwell’s.
No previous experience is needed: simply an interest in the subject, a love of experiential vitality and an appreciation of intellectual engagement. A small number of bursary places are available for this course for those who wish to attend but who are on very low incomes; please write to christina@treadwells-london for more information.
