Every year ISCJ volunteers on July 4th at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK). This year inshaAllah, we would also like to cook the meals (halal meat) directly at TASK. Volunteers are needed to cook or serve the food or both.

No car pools have been arranged. Please arrange for your own ride to the soup kitchen at the address located above.
The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) is a private, non-sectarian, charitable organization that depends almost entirely on the help of dedicated volunteers and generous financial support from individuals, churches, local businesses and community organizations.
TASK provides more than 3,000 free meals per week to people in need in the Trenton area. We direct our activities toward helping patrons achieve healthier lifestyles, increased self-esteem, and self-sufficiency. To this end, TASK and agencies using our facility provide a wide array of social, community, and health services.
Cooking of meals will begin around 7.30AM inshaAllah. We will cook and serve halal meals.
Volunteers for this event have to be 13 years of age or older.
Q. What shall I wear when I come to TASK?
A. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing that can get dirty. Jeans are fine. We provide aprons, hair coverings and sanitary gloves for people working with food.
Q. Do you have parking available?
A. Yes. You can leave your car in our lot, space permitting, or on the street. Leave your valuables at home and make sure that nothing can be seen through your car windows. Please do not stash items under the seats or leave them in your trunk. For your comfort, we have a police officer who periodically patrols the parking area.
