Trillium Parents for Racial Equity provides parents with training and educational opportunities to increase understanding of race and racism, including how they play out in our school and district. With knowledge and experience gained in this group, parents can engage and support other equity efforts at Trillium, PPS and beyond.
Across Portland Public Schools, each school has its own path in equity and inclusion work. This critical work addresses the harmful effects of historical and current institutional racism that result in students of color graduating at lower rates than white students, achieving on standardized tests at lower rates than white students, and receiving exclusionary discipline (e.g. suspension and expulsion) at significantly disproportionate rates compared to white students.

TPRE meetings are every third Thursday, from 5:30-7:30pm, with pizza and childcare provided. Parents meet in the MPR. Childcare is typically in the Aftercare room.
