We celebrate the birthday of a member of our wellness circle---Maria Easterluna S. Canoy, anthropologist and Executive Director of Kitanglad Integrated NGOs---with the intention of granting all the items in her wish list:
1) launching of the book she and her team at Kitanglad Integrated NGOs (KIN) have been working on for the past couple of years,
2) a well-being party in the presence of intuitive healers, loved ones, volunteers and soul family,
3) a birthday cake,
4) coconut ice cream,
5) vegetarian dishes: fresh veggie salad, veggie pancit sotanghon, veggie spaghetti, and veggie barbecue, and
6) a day of loving and giving.
The Wisdom Keepers of Mt. Kitanglad is pioneering work on cultural profiling of the indigenous peoples of Mt. Kitanglad who, at the peak of their value system, and as manifestation of their deepest faith in the Supreme Creator (Magbabaya), is giving utmost respect and honor to Mother Nature. Maria Easterluna co-authored this book, as part of the team of cultural profilers and researchers led by Datu Makapukaw.
Datu Makapukaw and the tribes of Mt. Kitanglad (Bukidnon Daraghuyan , Higaonon and Talaandig) intend this book to be a guide to the future generation in ensuring the continued protection and preservation of Mt. Kitanglad, the home that they inherited from their ancestors, and for outsiders to understand their culture to pave the way for smoother interactions.
Anyone interested to sponsor the printing of more copies of this book is invited to attend this event. Minimum sponsorship fee is P2,000 to cover for two book copies (one copy for the sponsor, one copy for the tribes) and dinner.
