Dr. Carolyn DeSalvo will present a free WOW! Working on Wellness Forum entitled “Food as Medicine: The Anti-Inflammatory Diet” on Wednesday, April 11th at 2:30 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 South Blake Avenue, in Sequim.
Dr. DeSalvo will discuss what the anti-inflammatory diet is, why it works and what disease processes have evidence for prevention or treatment with such a diet.
Dr. DeSalvo is a physician with more than 25 years experience, she is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine and has completed a residency in OB//GYN at the University of Texas. She recently completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine led by Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona.
From 1:45 to 2:15 volunteer nurses from the Clinic will be available to check the blood pressure of anyone who may be interested.
WOW! Working on Wellness is a health education program of Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic—Sequim’s free clinic. The Clinic provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members. Our work is supported by more than seventy volunteers, including physicians, other professional health care providers and laypersons, as well as private and public donations from the Sequim community and beyond.
