These modules do not have to be taken in order. T.R.Y. workshops are always OPEN TO ALL caregivers, be it at home, professionally, or for oneself. Mindful Movements by T.R.Y. is a program being delivered to 10 Clark County Schools. This method was developed to foster emotional intelligence and strengthen resilience in youth and school staff who live or work in areas where they may experience trauma or live with toxic stress. High levels of anxiety and school-related stress have been associated with learning disabilities, behavioral issues and violence. Which in turn activate stress responses in the staff throughout the culture of the school, or the community.
Trainees are taught in a series of trauma related subjects, regarding the effects of trauma or toxic stress on the mind and body, combined with skills in delivering the specific Mindful Movements methods. These methods have been created to target specific areas of the nervous system in which stress, anxiety and fear have a toxic effect. Through a series of breath work, somatic movements, mindfulness, and affirmations, students and staff experience: calm, feeling more focused, reduced anxiety or stress, improved autonomic self-regulation and become less reactive. Mindful Movements can be used in situations when working with youth in crisis, at the beginning of class or anytime a “reset” would be appropriate. No yoga certification is needed to become certified to deliver this method.
These hours may apply to CEU’s for Yoga Alliance yoga instructors. These hours can also be cumulative to achieve a 20 hour T.R.Y. certification or taken individually for professional or self growth.
