Join us on Thursday, December 7, for a Free First Thursday exploring the feature exhibition Desert Dweller and how innovative retailers can shape communities and culture. Admission to the museum will be free from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, there will be a panel featuring retailers and designers featured in Desert Dweller, and Oaxacan Woodcarving demonstrations will take place in the TMA Sculpture Garden. A cash bar serving beer and wine will be available.
Desert Dweller: Retailer as Innovator Panel

Retailers are innovators, chameleons, and curators of fashion. They take on the role of stylist, savvy business person, and skilled marketer to attract new shoppers while being continuously inspired by the local community. Join curator Paula Taylor and TMA CEO, Jeremy Mikolajczak, in conversation with Tucson retailers including Rochelle K, Salima and Roberto of Desert Vintage, Toyo Gilman of Dark Star Leather, and Katya Peterson.
Oaxacan woodcarving demonstrations and sales with Agustin Cruz Prudencio of Tallasoaxaqueñas

Agustin Cruz Prudencio is an active participant in the thriving woodcarving tradition in Oaxaca. He resides in the village of San Agustin de la Juntas outside the capital city of Oaxaca where he works with his father Agustin Cruz Tinoco and brother, Manuel Cruz Prudencio, in the family studio.
