This will be a unique opportunity to come as a family for fun and personal enrichment. There will be three workshop tracks aimed at teaching, encouraging, and challenging teenagers, parents, and grandparents. There will also be time to have some fun as you enjoy some of the activities around Camp. Childcare will be provided during the morning and afternoon workshops.
Workshop 1: FINDING IDENTITY IN CHRIST
Led by Melanie Nesbitt
The world gives us false ideas of what is important and what we should place our identity in; such as having the most money, friends, awards, or cool clothes; but these things fade away. The Bible says that we are children of God, loved by Him, and chosen to spread His gospel. Join this session to learn more about how we can find true and eternal joy by placing our identity in Christ.
PARENTING – 14 GOSPEL PRINCIPLES THAT CAN REALLY CHANGE YOUR FAMILY
Led by Scott Larsen
In the book “Parenting,” Paul Tripp offers parents much more than a to-do list. Instead, he presents us with a big-picture view of God’s plan for us as parents. Outlining fourteen foundational principles centered on the gospel, he shows that we need more than the latest parenting strategy or list of techniques. Rather, we need the rescuing grace of God—grace that has the power to shape how we view everything we do as parents.
During the Family Equipping Day Scott will teach two sessions, primarily from this book and other excellent parenting resources. The interactive teaching will provide Christian parents with a solid theological understanding of their role and practical tools as well.
BEING AN INTENTIONAL CHRISTIAN GRANDPARENT
Christian grandparents want to create opportunities for spiritual conversations with the most precious of all God’s children – their own grandkids. The Grandparenting track on Family Equipping Day is designed specifically for active grandparents who want to increase their Christian influence to the next two generations. It will be taught by Legacy Coalition speakers and based on their personal experience and Grandparenting Matters seminars.
Cost (includes workshops, lunch, and activities):
