In a month, I'll be doing a Plant Medicine presentation at our Local Food Revival event at Two Clay Birds Garden Market in Hico.
Do you use herbs and other plants as part of good health maintenance? Would you like to learn how to support your good health with plants that are likely growing in nearby fields? Do you know how to recognize the plants in this area that were used as medicine by our ancestors?
In the past couple of years, I have had a number of doctors and pharmacists ask me for notes on these subjects, because they are looking for gentler approaches to healing, or the medicines they have been using are losing effectiveness, or the cost of conventional education is too high - either in terms of money or side effects. Plant medicine is knowledge that is fast being lost from our culture; it was when I started compiling these notes for the doctors and pharmacists that I realized I hadn't written down this information for my own children to have after I walk out of this life into the next. So, I began teaching them what I know and encouraging them to learn and study as well. And, that is my hope for everyone interested in plant medicine - to never stop learning.
This will be a really casual talk. Families are welcome. And I look forward to learning from each other!
Please comment below if there is a particular plant or subject of interest to you. I will try to cover as many of those as I can!
See you soon!
