April is Month of the Military Child!

To support this and help highlight the importance of setting aside time to recognize the contributions and personal sacrifices our military children make, we are proud to announce that Friday, April 13, 2018 is designated as "Bring Your Child to Work Day" on Coast Guard Island. This is a great opportunity to show your children first-hand the importance of your Coast Guard job and expose them to the outstanding men and women who work here on Coast Guard Island.

MWR is hosting our annual Month of the Military Child (MOMC) event on Friday, April 13th from 0900 to 1300 on the softball field weather permitting; the Gym is designated as the alternate event site. MOMC is open to all employees of the Coast Guard and other military services, and a legal determination was made that attendance at the carnival is considered part of the normal work day for civilians. So, please feel free to bring your children to work and attend the event!

We have lots of fun activities planned ranging from beach ball soccer and kickball to creation station art, bouncy houses, an obstacle course, bake sale, petting zoo, DJ Denova Live and guest appearances from our own Coastie Joe and Coastie Jane!

Please see the attached flyer for additional details and check with your chain of command for final approval to bring your children into your respective workspace.

If you are interested in volunteering at the event, please join us for our volunteer meeting scheduled for Thursday 5 April, at 1000 in the BLDG 16 Conference Room (HR/Legal wing).

Hope to see you there!
