A weekly Mindfulness Meditation course for those wanting to learn, deepen or maintain a regular meditation practice in a supportive, community environment.
For all levels of experience, this course will guide you through principles and practices of Mindfulness Meditation, an evidence-based approach which supports you to reduce the experience of stress, anxiety and depression and enhance your overall wellbeing.
Guided by Anna Davies; psychologist, mindfulness, meditation and yoga teacher.
Each session will build on from the next, covering different elements and principles of Mindfulness Meditation.
An example structure of the course will be:
Week 1: Mindfulness of the Body
Week 2: Mindfulness of the Breath
Week 3: Mindfulness of breath and body: Integration
Week 4: Affectionate Breathing
Week 5: Mindfulness of Sounds
Week 6: Mindfulness of Feelings and Emotions
Week 7: Self Compassion and Self Kindness
Week 8: Compassion for Self, Compassion for others
Week 9: Mindfulness of thoughts
Week 10: Mindfulness and Stillness
Each session will include:
- Short introduction and Theory
- A Mindfulness Meditation practice
- Debrief of your meditation experience
- Home practice exercises and guided meditations to support your continued practice of mindfulness meditation.
These sessions will be informed by research in neuroscience, the science of happiness, my training in The Mindfulness Based Stillness Meditation program designed by the Gawler Foundation and my training and practice as a psychologist.
Located in Selby (exact address available upon booking).
Investment: $140 for 10 sessions.
You are welcome to attend these sessions on a casual basis if you are not able to attend the full course. These sessions will be available for $17 a session.
