UCARE invites you to attend a Mass Incarceration Debate on April 5th, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Bears' Den.
Inspired by the documentary, 13th, the debate will focus on one of many controversial themes that serves as a basis for the issue of mass incarceration. Two students, Min Son and Hiyab Hiruy, will debate on the following resolution: In the United States, the abuse of illegal drugs ought to be treated as a public health issue, not as a criminal justice issue.
The debate will be in Lincoln-Douglas style, in which the debaters present their case and take turns defending their arguments while arguing against their opponent's.
The exciting part about this event is that the debaters will incorporate opinions and facts submitted by you in their arguments! So do you have a strong opinion about the resolution? If so, please share your thoughts with us in the link below:
Thank you, and if you have any questions or concerns, please email UCARE@ursinus.edu or firstname.lastname@example.org.
