On April 17th at UCCS in the University Center room 302 the UCCS College Democrats and the Colorado Springs Socialists will be debating the topics of capitalism and socialism. They will explore histories, functionality, common misconceptions, and what the future holds for these systems and ideologies. Dr. Steven Pittz, a PhD in the Political Science Department at UCCS, will be moderating. A one hour Q&A session will follow and seating is limited to the first 100 attendees. RSVPing on facebook will not guarantee you a seat at this event, though we are trying to set up a livestream and an overflow room to watch the debate in the instance that the room is filled to capacity. The event is free and open to the public, and food and drink will be provided. We ask that people show up early to enjoy the catering and look at organizational material that will be tabled at the event. There will also be a box for people to donate canned food that will then be given to a local activist organization that seeks to help the homeless.
