The Herb Alpert School of Music presents
an all-day musical celebration of Diversity
Thursday, May 3.


12 noon - 1 pm Music Library Noontime Concert
Pergolesi's Stabat Mater for 2 vocal soloists, strings, harpsichord

12 noon - 2 pm Lunchtime busking at campus eating locations

1:30 pm - 4 pm Panels, workshops, dialogues, Q & A's, videos, etc.
with Music School faculty and guest speakers
Choral Room, Green Room, Library Media Room

4:30 pm - 6 pm Launch Pad Mini Concerts
acoustic sets by student performers - Ostin Recording Studio courtyard ramp

6:30 pm - 7:15 pm Music Library World Music Showcase
with Ethnomusicology performance ensembles

8:00 - 10:30 pm DINKINESH (the concert)*
free concert in Schoenberg Hall
Headliner Eva B. Ross Band (winner, 2017 Spring Sing), with Thelonius Monk Institute of Jazz Ensemble, Superdevoiche (UCLA Balkan Women's Choir)

* "Dinkinesh" = the name given to the earliest known human remains, female, found in Ethiopia
(aka "Lucy"). The word "Dinkinesh" translates as "You are marvelous."
