The College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences (CAUSES), of the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), is partnering with the UDC Garden Club and the Environmental Sustainability Leadership Club to host an on-campus Earth Day celebration event. The goal of this event is to bring awareness to some of the environmental issues we are facing (climate change, water insecurity, food insecurity, etc.). We hope to get more people involved with environmental issues in order to make our earth more sustainable. This event will bring students, staff and faculty together to participate in hands-on activities such as gardening, a compost demonstration and a tour of our aquaponics system. We will also use this opportunity to highlight all the sustainable initiatives that are currently taking place on campus.
