Learn the basic skills necessary in the mediation process, as well as how to mediate a variety of disputes. By engaging in numerous role-plays, participants will gain an understanding of how to effectively represent clients in mediation and develop the skills necessary to become successful mediators. This class is designed to meet the basic training requirements for those who want to be registered as a civil mediator through the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution (GODR).

Note: After completing General Civil Mediation Training (28 hours), mediators seeking registration as general mediators must complete additional training of five observations and/or co-mediations. Observational Practicum in Mediation (12 hours), offered by the Fanning Institute, serves as an approved mediation practicum to meet this requirement.
