Monday 9, 16 and 23 April
Level Three, Union House
Over the course of three workshops, learn how to design and carve your own limestone sculpture from artist Noriko Nakamura.
In her artworks, Noriko uses traditional hand carving techniques to transform limestone from an inanimate and heavy material into playful forms.
During the workshops you will hear about Noriko’s practice, and spend time exploring campus to get inspiration for your own sculpture design.
You will learn how to transform your 2D designs into 3D drawings, and receive an introduction to a range of carving tools and techniques that you will use to make your drawing into a sculpture.
At the conclusion of the workshop series, you will have a finished limestone sculpture to take home with you!
All materials provided.
Attendance at all three workshops is required.
