Have you ever wanted to see a scientific lab that is being used to make breakthroughs with pancreatic cancer?! Now is your chance!
The Charlotte area is fortunate to have our very own pancreatic cancer researcher, Dr. Pinku Mukherjee. Join us as we tour her lab at UNC Charlotte.
Dr. Mukherjee's lab has received grants totaling over $13 million, including a PanCAN grant. Her lab's pancreatic cancer work includes research to leverage immunotherapy for patients, and research to create an early detection test. Dr. Mukherjee co-founded OncoTab Inc., a UNCC-biotechnology spin-off company. She holds several patents for development of an antibody with applications in pancreatic cancer diagnostics and therapeutics.
Dr. Mukherjee is the Chair of UNC Charlotte's Department of Biological Sciences and UNCC's Irwin Belk Endowed Professor of Cancer Research. She is the 2015 recipient of the O. Max Gardener award, the highest faculty honor given by the UNC Board of Governors across its 17 campuses.
RSVP is REQUIRED, as space is limited to 30 people.
