Kviečiame į Kauno modernizmo architektūros parodos atidarymą UNESCO būstinėje balandžio 4 dieną!

Kauno modernizmo architektūra atspindi unikalų reiškinį, kai laikinoji sostinė Kaunas tiesiog per vieną dešimtmetį iš periferinio miesto tapo šiuolaikine Europos sostine. Politiniai, ekonominiai ir kultūriniai įvykiai reikšmingai prisidėjo prie išskirtinės miesto tapatybės, besiremiančios XX a. 4-ojo dešimtmečio Europos dvasia ir kintančio modernumo apraiškomis, suformavimo.

2015 m. Europos Komisija suteikė 1919–1940 m. Kaunui Europos paveldo ženklą.

We cordially invite you to the opening of the exposition on modern architecture in Kaunas, which will take place on 4 April 2018 at UNESCO House.

The travelling architectural exhibition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Lithuania in 1918 and rethinking Kaunas, a new modernist capital city, as a common European heritage.

Modernist architecture of Kaunas represents a unique phenomenon of the provisional capital Kaunas that developed from the peripheral town into a modern European capital city within roughly one decade. Political, economic and cultural events contributed much to the creation of the unique identity of the city based on European spirit of the 1930’s and migrating modernities.

In 2015, European Commission recognized “Kaunas of 1919-1940” as European Heritage Label site.
