The x6 week Introductory course comprises of 6 sessions once per week for 75 minutes.
This course is intended for the complete beginner to yoga, as a refresher, or if you're returning to yoga after pregnancy and childbirth.
In this course you will learn the basic postures of Hatha yoga. They are introduced sequentially, and consolidated week to week to achieve strength, coordination, concentration and body awareness. The program inspires confidence and courage for the new student, despite age, flexibility, or fitness level. It provides a great foundation for students' first time to a yoga class, or as a refresher course for someone returning to yoga after a break, or after pregnancy and childbirth.
Students experience benefits from their first class, and may include:
Improved sleep, lowered incidence of headaches, decreased tensions and tightness and fatigue.
Increased postural awareness, strength, flexibility, balance and coordination.
Classes missed can be made up at any other class times within the eight weeks. On completion, you can either repeat this course or move on to our Level 1 classes on our timetable.
Our Introductory course of yoga is taught in the Iyengar method. It is a dynamic style of yoga, focusing on the precision of alignment, postural awareness, timings and sequencing. The effects develop the faculties of the body, refinement of the breath, and engage the mind to create a moving meditation.
