A benefit concert for the people of Puerto Rico who are suffering from the profound devastation of Hurricane Maria. With over 1 million Puerto Ricans living in New York, Brooklyn rises for Puerto Rico to help all who have friends and family struggling to survive on the island. All proceeds will go to R.Evolution Latina, The Hurricane Maria Relief Fund, and the Hispanic Federation.

With an incredible line-up of Puerto Rican talent, BROOKLYN RISES features members of the ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST of Lin-Manuel Miranda's IN THE HEIGHTS as well as the broadway hit ON YOUR FEET: the life and music of Emilio and Gloria Estefan.

In an evening packed with music of all styles, Brooklyn rises with multi-instrumentalist and San Juan-born composer, ANGELICA NÉGRON. Her music has been described as “wistfully idiosyncratic and contemplative” (WQXR/Q2) and “mesmerizing and affecting” (Feast of Music) while The New York Times noted her “capacity to surprise” and her “quirky approach to scoring”.

Alongside musical performances, BROOKLYN RISES includes a silent art auction featuring artwork from NY Times and Wall Street Journal illustrator David G. Klein, Brooklyn Daily Eagle/Puerto Rican courtroom sketch artist Alba Acevedo, along with many others.
