This summer, Unity Hall will present its first professional touring production for children. Children and adults alike will delight in the Merry-Go-Round Youth Theatre’s performance of The Bremen Town Musicians on Sunday, July 15 at 2PM at Unity Hall,101 Vanderkemp Avenue, Barneveld. This special performance is co-sponsored by the Unity Hall Foundation and the Barneveld Free Library and will be held in the historic Landecker Auditorim. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and children are free. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Based in Auburn, NY, The Merry-Go-round Youth Theatre is one of the largest professional touring theatres for children in the country. This summer they will present a brand new adaptation of the classic Brothers’ Grimm fairytale, The Bremen Town Musicians. The play follows four outcasts: a donkey, a dog, a cat, and a rooster who have all left their homes because they have been told they are no longer useful. Their misfortune brings them together and sets them off on a whirlwind, musical adventure. In the end, the four friends learn that their unique talents are what make them special. Through teamwork, creativity, and a little music, they can do anything!
The Merry-Go-Round Youth Theatre is one of the largest resident touring youth theatre education programs in North America. They reach 125,000 students in 74 districts and 23 counties in Central NY every year. The July 15th Unity Hall performance is part of their professional summer tour for children.
Admission for the performance is $5 for adults and children are free. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to attend. Tickets will be available in advance at the Barneveld Library, 118 Boon Street, Barneveld and at the Adirondack Cheese Company, 8190 State Rte 12, Ste1, Barneveld.
