We're kicking off this year with an Impromptu Moot Evening! These were incredibly popular when we held them for the first time last year, so we're bringing them back. No mooting experience is required and there is no dress code, so this is a fun and casual way to check out if mooting is for you.
The problem for this moot is a straightforward criminal law problem about duty of care. Impromptu moots this year will be more about practicing your mooting skills (oral submissions, interacting with the judges etc.) rather than worrying too much about the content.
We'll be starting off the night with free pizza before releasing the preparation materials and giving you an hour and a bit to prepare. Impromptu Moot Evenings require no preparation in advance, so this is a great way to get into mooting with minimal time commitment.
Sign ups will be opening at 6:00pm on Monday 19 March and places are very limited, so make sure you get in quickly! You can sign up as a pair or as an individual and we will find you a teammate. Sign ups open to all, but if we are oversubscribed, Part IIs and above will be prioritised for this moot, given the nature of the problem.
