UNL Amnesty International and UNICEF Nebraska will be holding a refugee simulation on Sunday, April 15th at the Vine Fields on campus. The simulation should hel[p Huskers gain insight into the traumatic and challenging experiences of refugees, and the international importance of migrant rights and efforts to aid refugees. The simulation is based on the United Nations simulation game "Passages," "a role playing game developed by UNHCR in 1995 designed to put participants through the experience of being a refugee fleeing war or persecution."
We invite students, faculty, and community members to join Amnesty International on campus for an afternoon of insight and understanding. The simulation game should take around 3 hours but will involve active participation and group action among participant, helping them not only learn about issues refugees face but also how to problem-solve and work in teams. We hope to see you there!
