Join distinguished Pitt alum Kate MacCord for an informative workshop about her journey to becoming a successful scientist. As Pitt’s only Gates Cambridge Scholar, MacCord earned an MPhil in Human Evolutionary Studies from the University of Cambridge. After completing a Fulbright in Helsinki, Finland, she earned her PhD in History and Philosophy of Science from Arizona State University, where she now holds an Adjunct position at the Center for Biology and Society. She also serves as the Program Administrator of the McDonnell Initiative and McDonnell Foundation Fellow at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA.
MacCord will discuss her education and research adventures and take questions on applying for scholarships and grants, conducting research in the U.S. and abroad, working across disciplines, publishing, and more. Students of all majors are welcome to attend.
