You are not alone! The UWM Norris Health Center, Peer Health Educators in collaboration with other organizations throughout campus have come together to fight the stigma surrounding mental illness and to promote the resources available to people who have been affected by mental illness, either personally or through a friend or family member. We want you to know you have support.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness Resource Fair will take place on May 9th from 10:00am to 2:00pm in Speights Plaza (the walk path between the Union and Library) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. There will be activities that give students, staff and community members the opportunity to show support for those whose lives have been impacted by mental illness. Come make a flag for our hope string or make encouraging chalk drawings throughout the plaza with us! Materials will be provided about the on and off-campus resources available to people who experience mental illness.
We will also be promoting the upcoming NAMI 5K Walk, which is going to take place on Saturday, May 19 at 11:00am at the Milwaukee Lakefront, Veterans Park. Please register to join the UWM team "Taking Strides for Healthy Minds" by going to
