We invite you to a lecture that will be held by prof. Jeremy Tambling from the University of Manchester.
What texts and theoretical tools will help to read what the internet means, and how it shapes identity and space and politics? How do new media make older ways of thinking about the private and the public out of date, and what have they given in its place?
With special reference to Don deLillo's Cosmopolis, this lecture will raise questions concerning new technology, and its dual relation to global capitalism and to the city.
The lecture will take place an a conference room no. 400 on the fourth floor.

“The Challenges of the Humanities of the 21st Century” is a series of lectures by distinguished specialists, representing various disciplines from the field of humanities. The events are aimed at students of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Studies at SWPS University, however all interested parties are welcome. The format includes post-lecture informal discussions, where doctoral students can debate the lecture topics with the invited experts.
