Haim Watzman is the author of "Company C: An American's Life as a Citizen-Soldier in Israel," and "A Crack in the Earth: A Journey Up Israel’s Rift Valley." His fiction, personal essays, and satire appears regularly in his "Necessary Stories" column in The Jerusalem Report. Watzman is the translator of many notable Israeli books, including Tom Segev’s The Seventh Million and One Palestine Complete, David Grossman’s The Yellow Wind and Sleeping on a Wire, and Amos Oz’s story “Heirs,” published in The New Yorker. He lives in Jerusalem with his family. He is co-author, along with Gershom Gorenberg, of the South Jerusalem blog (southjerusalem.com), where he reprints his stories.
