This event, hosted by the SA Division of Ag Institute Australia, will see guest speaker, Professor Timothy Reeves, deliver a presentation on 'The Grand Challenges for Agriculture and Future Food and Nutritional Security’. Professor Reeves will discuss finding the right balance between short-term productivity/profitability and longer-term social and environmental impacts and look not only at the challenges, but also at ways forward to address them, including sustainable intensification.

Tim Reeves has worked for 40 years in agricultural research, development and extension, focussed on sustainable agriculture in Australia and overseas. He was a pioneer of no-till research in NE Victoria. His professional career includes positions in the Department of Agriculture, Victoria; Foundation Professor of Sustainable Agricultural Production, Adelaide University (1992-95) and Director General of the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) based in Mexico (1995-2002).

A brief AIA SA Division AGM will also be held on the night, commencing at approx 5.45pm.
