Back by popular demand, singer-songwriter Bill Staines, will bring his heartfelt songs and stories, smooth baritone voice, and superb guitar-playing to the UU Church of Brunswick on Sat, April 7.
Staines, one of the most popular and beloved balladeers on the folk music circuit today, has appeared on Public Radio's Prairie Home Companion and Mountain Stage and has put on nearly 200 shows a year around the country for 5 decades.
Staines’s music is described as “a slice of Americana, with instantly memorable sing-along choruses such as his now classic “The Roseville Fair,” “A Place in the Choir” and “River.” On stage, Staines is an intimate, compelling performer, mixing in traditional tunes with his own contemporary folk ballads. His humorous tales of life on the road and observations of everyday people provide an entertaining blend of story and song.
