Motivational interviewing is a directive, person-centered counseling style for eliciting behavior change by helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence. Compared with non-directive counseling, it is more focused and goal-directed.

This workshop will focus on understanding the eight foundational processes of Motivational Interviewing (MI), and then offer practice applying those resources in real life scenarios. Participants will be asked to practice identified skill sets to expand their mastery and utilize the approach in supervisory and management strategies.
