Quest for Respect: The Church and Indigenous Spirituality

Get Directions

#var:page_name# cover

On April 28th, we will begin our study of the final book in the trilogy, "Quest for Respect: The Church and Indigenous Spirituality" at 1143 E. Pender St., Van. In Quest for Respect, with a firm hold on past and present colonialism, the contributors tackle key questions that the TRC’s call raises: What is Indigenous spirituality, and why is it critical for Settler Christians to learn about it? What is the history of Indigenous–Christian encounter? How does spiritual abuse and violence continue today? How might we repair the damage done? And what does genuine respect really look like?

We will meet monthly on the 4th Saturday of the month for five months (April 28th, May 26th, June 23rd, July 28th, and August 25th). We have a few books available for purchase, books are also available for $14 at https://www.commonword.ca/ResourceView/16/19134
