Adam Taylor from Marine Life Sanctuary Society and Underwater Council of BC will be sharing images, video and stories about ongoing Marine Conservation efforts in Howe Sound. Learn more about the discovery and exploration of Glass Sponge reefs which are considered `Living Fossils`. Volunteers from various local groups have been documenting these newly discovered reefs using drop cameras, recreational scuba equipment, technical diving and submersible expeditions.

Due to a recent increase in awareness all levels of government have expressed interest protecting Howe Sound's marine environment. Adam will outline a few ongoing initiatives, and how the dive community can participate in these protection goals. How does helping create a new Rockfish Conservation Area sound?

$5 entry, fundraising for WWF, drinks and snacks provided.
