Breakfast Series: Managing the Expectations in Business Families
Do you ever struggle with what is fair? Necessary? Undiscussable? You are not alone. Business Families are innately complex.
Each person represents a particular role within family, business and ownership. With each role comes diverse expectations of self and others. It is not unusual to be completely unaware of what others expect. Assumptions, ideas and emotions show up in all kinds of expectations. It is easy to become confused and uncertain about what’s going on. This presentation will focus on how each system - family, business and ownership - carries different expectations; some of which can be competing with what may be in the best interest of each system; some of which can have great potential. Openly communicating our expectations can be enlightening and pave the way to positive and more enriching relationships.
This presentation provides a platform to become more curious about what triggers conflict and misunderstanding, recognize a productive way to communicate, and develop more clarity and confidence in your roles within family, business and ownership.
