Making the Case Symposium
25th May 2018 | 10am-4pm
Grand Hall | the Whitworth
Breaking down barriers to cultural and heritage places and spaces for learning disabled people.
Aimed at heritage and cultural organisations and individuals we invite you to spend a day with us finding out about areas of good practice and making inroads into breaking down barriers to heritage that exist for learning disabled people.
Venture Arts will be presenting a day of thought and discussion about making our cultural landscape a more rich and welcoming place with learning disabled people at its heart.
They will be talking about the impact that their Cultural Enrichment programme has had where learning disabled people take ownership of some of our most well-known cultural and heritage spaces.
Showcasing best practice in the field will be Autism for the Arts, ActionSpace and Royal Academy of Arts, the History of Place project, Bluerooms based at the Bluecoat and the Whitworth.
This will be a day of talking, debating and sharing to encourage change.
Tickets | £15 including lunch and refreshments!
