For those who may not know May 1st is Lei Day in Hawaii. Therefore we plan to participate, in our small way by learning to make leis as we perpetuate the culture. Kai Brandon, chairman of the culture committee will be teaching three methods of lei making, maile tea leaf wili, straw lei, and haku for a suggested donation of $10 to cover the costs of the lei making supplies.
Sign up for Lei Class ! A list of items to bring to class will be emailed/mailed. Contact Hui via email (email@example.com) or phone (813-344-2249). Please provide the number of participants and names. Children will need adult supervision.
Please bring a dish to share to create a calabash lunch (aka potluck). Hui will provide the main meat dish, plates, utensils, water.
