Our Saturday open mic is hosted by Mr. J of Honeysuckle Haze and we choose a new music feature each week. This week we are featuring local musician, Mark McGonigle. Gather your friends and enjoy $1.50 wells and $2 PBR’s all night long! Guests welcome!!
About our feature:
Mark McGonigle was born in 1960, the eighth of nine children, at the joining of the roots of american music and the new branches that would sprout vigorously in folk, rock and roll, and psychedelia. In his early years, he could be found walking in circles, deep in thought, while his dad played old country tunes by Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb, and Ray Price. Later he was bouncing on a bed to the early Beatles spun on a 45. Even later, he would be lost in a trance, pondering the expansive meaning of life to Terrapin Station by the Grateful Dead. To him, songs are stories that come with a memorable tune. His musical style is to evoke those stories, with his own personal twist.
