This enjoyable and thorough course covers every aspect of weight room instructing including how to design safe and effective programs, different types of programs to match different goals, how use machines in the gym as well as body-weighted exercises.This is the second step in becoming a personal trainer and is the prerequisite for the Personal Training course. If you want to be a certified Weight Trainer or Personal Trainer in Canada, then this is the course you will need!

The Weight Trainer Instructor course gives you the skills to safely and confidently guide people through their workouts in the weight room. The Weight Training course is the second of the 3 courses needed to become certified as a Personal Trainer. Please note that if you wish to be BCRPA-certified as a Personal Trainer, you must first register with BCRPA as a Fitness Leader (complete the Fitness Theory course, BCRPA exam, First Aid and CPR, and BCRPA registration), and THEN take the Weight Training course, before moving on to next steps and the Personal Training course. This course covers:

Anatomy and physiology review
Designing basic programs
Methodologies of Weight Programs
Periodization
Using weight machines, free weights, barbells, etc
Core exercises
Effective Stretching
Nutrition
and much more


Please note that if you wish to be BCRPA-certified as a Weight Trainer (which is a prerequisite for the Personal Training course), you must first register with BCRPA as a Fitness Leader (complete the Fitness Theory course, BCRPA exam, First Aid and CPR, and BCRPA registration). Following the Weight Training course, you will need to complete your practical exam (ICE). After that you have to complete 20 Weight Training program as a prerequisite for the Personal Training course (contact us for more details).
