The Evansville Philharmonic Youth Orchestras (EPYO & EPYO II) will present their Spring Concert on Sunday, April 15 at 4:00 p.m. on the Victory Theatre stage. EPYO II consists of Tri-State students in grades 6-9, and EPYO includes Tri-State students in grades 9-12. Local communities represented in the EPYOs include Evansville, Newburgh, Jasper, Princeton, Ft. Branch, Tell City, and Owensboro, to name a few. This performance is the second time this season for these outstanding young people to showcase their talents.

EPYO II, under the direction of Lee Veazey, will begin the concert with Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5; followed by Dvorak’s Slavonic Dance No. 3. Then they will perform Tchaikovsky’s Capriccio Italien, and will close with the finale from Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2, known by the nickname “Little Russian”.

Under the baton of conductor Brian Onderdonk, EPYO will begin the second half of the program with selections from Bizet’s Carmen. Then they will perform Dvorak’s famous Symphony No. 9 “From the New World” in its entirety.

General admission is $10.00 and tickets may be purchased by calling the Philharmonic Box Office at (812) 425-5050 or ordering online at www.evansvillephilharmonic.org.

The Evansville Philharmonic Youth Orchestras offer exciting performance opportunities for talented high school and middle school students in the Tri-State area. This performance is made possible in part by The Eykamp Family in memory of Dorothy Eykamp and the City of Evansville.
