Explore the Guildford connections of the Father of modern computing.

Alan Turing made a highly significant contribution to the breaking of German codes during World War II. He lived in Guildford as a boy and regularly visited the town to see his family right up to his death.

On this walk you will hear about his time in Guildford, the story behind his genius as told by other members of his family.

The walk is about 2 miles long with regular stops along the way and a few surprises!

Meet outside G Live (by the Turing Cedar Sculpture). The walk finishes at Tunsgate Arch - because of the walk's duration and the uneven ground, it may be unsuitable for those with limited mobility.

This walk is free but booking is essential

The Turing walks are part of a programme of walks lead by the Guildford Town Guides between May and September each year. Visit the Town Guides Website for more details http://www.guildfordwalks.org.uk/home.php
