Dwy chwaer. Dwy ddramodwraig newydd. Dwy ddrama.

Darlleniad cyhoeddus o ddwy ddrama fu’n fuddugol yng nghystadleuaeth Medal Ddrama Eisteddfod Genedlaethol yr Urdd: ‘Ansh’ gan Lois Llywelyn Williams (2016) a ‘Lôn Terfyn’ gan Mared Llywelyn Williams (2017). Mae’r darlleniad yn rhan o raglen Theatr Gen Creu, menter newydd Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, sy’n cefnogi talent, yn datblygu crefft theatr, ac yn cynnig cyfleoedd arbennig i artistiaid yng Nghymru.

‘Ansh’ gan Lois Llywelyn Williams
“Ma’r ’fala ’ma’n Instagrammable . . . falla chei di mo’r blas i ddechra; jesd gwitsia iddo fo gicio mewn.”

Mae’r Efa ifanc newydd ddarganfod gwifren sy’n arwain at afalau cochion, llachar ac yn mynnu bod yr Adda ifanc yn cymryd brathiad. Ond mae’r goeden afalau’n codi arswyd ar yr Efa hŷn, a does gan yr Adda hŷn ddim dant i gnoi’r un afal beth bynnag!

Drama ffres a chwareus sy’n dangos pa mor gyflym a llwyr mae technoleg yn gallu rheoli’n bywydau.

‘Lôn Terfyn’ gan Mared Llywelyn Williams
“Ti’m yn gwbod be ma’u hannar nhw’n neud ’ma. Hidden agendas. Ma nhw’n casglu yn y llefydd ’ma, sdi? Yng nghefn gwlad.”

Mae Sara wedi symud i fyw at Tom, ei chariad, ond Ramin – y dyn sydd wedi symud i mewn i’r tŷ cyngor dros y ffordd – sy’n mynd â’i sylw. Mae Ramin wedi dianc i’r pentref o Gaerdydd, ac mae gan Tom ei amheuon amdano. Wedi’i hysbrydoli gan yr hinsawdd wleidyddol bresennol, dyma ddrama newydd, eofn sy’n archwilio mewnfudo a rhagfarnau mewn byd bregus, llawn tensiynau.

Mae’r cyflwyniad hwn yn rhan o dymor Perfformiadau i’r Chwilfrydig yng Nghanolfan Mileniwm Cymru. Tymor o waith newydd cyffrous, pwerus a chanmoliaethus a’r gorau oll mewn theatr a pherfformio cyfoes gyda rhaglen ffraeth o gomedi, cabaret, cerddoriaeth, y gair llafar a nosweithiau llwyfan agored.

Ymunwch â ni am sgwrs wedi’r darlleniadau.

Two sisters. Two new playwrights. Two plays.

A public reading of two plays that won the Drama Medal at the Urdd National Eisteddfod: ‘Ansh’ by Lois Llywelyn Williams (2016) and ‘Lôn Terfyn’ by Mared Llywelyn Williams (2017). The reading is part of the programme of Theatr Gen Creu, a new initiative by Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, that supports talent, develops theatre craft, and offers unique opportunities to artists in Wales.

‘Ansh’ by Lois Llywelyn Williams
“These apples are Instagrammable . . . perhaps you won’t get the taste straight away; just wait for it to kick in.”
The youg Efa has recently discovered a wire that leads to some shiny red apples, and insists that the young Adda takes a bite. But the apple tree fills the older Efa with horror, and the older Adda has no teeth in his head to chew an apple in any case!
A fresh, playful drama that shows how quickly and completely technology takes over our lives.

‘Lôn Terfyn’ by Mared Llywelyn Williams
“You don’t know what half of them are doing here. Hidden agendas. They group together in these places, you know? In rural areas.”
Sara has moved in to live with Tom, her boyfriend, but Ramin – the man who has moved into the council house across the street – is the one that’s grabbing her attention. Ramin has escaped to the village from Cardiff, and Tom is suspicious of him. Inspired by the current political climate, this is a new, bold play that examines immigration and prejudice in a world that is fragile and full of tension.

This presentation is part of Wales Millennium Centre’s ‘Performances for the Curious’ – a season of exciting, compelling and critically-lauded new work from the very best in contemporary theatre and performance, together with a witty programme of comedy, cabaret, music, spoken word and scratch nights.
