Outside the Box is a live show about death! This heart warming and life affirming, one woman show by Liz Rothchild comes to Wanstead Library for one night only!
Outside the Box asks its audience to embrace mortality and look on the bright side of life, with a weave of untold and surprising stories, a hint of history and some pithy commentary on the funeral industry!
Liz Rothchild is a performer, celebrant and award winning burial ground owner. Her unique and original new show combines the mercurial tales and miraculous truths collected over the years from life's finishing line.
Although the tickets for the performance are free, we will be making a small charge for the programme that will be available on the night to help you interact with the performance fully. Other merchandise will also be available for sale on the night.
Here's what previous audiences have had to say about the show:
'Incredibly uplifting and often very funny...delivered to the audience with compassion and understanding'
'It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me want everyone to see it'
'I loved this show! I can't think of anything quite like it. She makes it both every day and profound, and moves us to laughter and tears'
Outside the Box has been programmed as part of The Final Party - A project in Redbridge libraries aimed at sparking conversations and discussions about death through a series of events and workshops that help us celebrate life but at the same time remove the fear and barriers around the subject of death. The project is being funded through the Engaging Libraries Programme, funded by Wellcome Trust and Carnegie Trust.
