Fox Country Players and the Waubonsee Community College Department of Community Education will present Whose Wives Are They Anyway?, an American farce by Michael Parker, on April 6 and 7 at 7:00 pm and April 8 at 2:00 pm at the Waubonsee Community College Auditorium in Sugar Grove.

In this farce, The Ashley Maureen Cosmetics Company has been sold and two of its executives, David McGachen and John Baker, have planned a golfing weekend before the new C.E.O. arrives on Monday. With their wives off on a shopping spree in New York City, they check into the Oakfield Golf and Country Club. They unexpectedly encounter their new boss, D.L. Hutchison, and she insists on meeting their wives commenting, “no one who goes off to play golf for the weekend without their wife will ever work for me”. So, David and John must quickly produce wives. John persuades Tina, the hotel receptionist, to play the role of his wife but the only one who can pretend to be David’s wife is…John! Inevitably everything goes wrong as John moves in and out of bedrooms, changing from male to female at a frantic pace. Hilarious chaos ensues when the hotel phone system goes on the blink, Tina has too much champagne and can’t keep her clothes on, and, of course, the real wives arrive!

Director, Jen Whittington, commented, “An American Farce is a lot like an American sit-com. Unbelievable things keep happening, but you just go with it because it’s funny”.

The talented cast includes: Eric Downs (Oswego), Rich LeCropane (Oswego), Diane Madden (Elburn), Meg McGarry (Plano), Nikki Miller (Aurora), Allison Scigalski (Aurora), Matt Teeling (Yorkville), and Michele Wade (Sandwich).

Performances will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6 and Saturday, April 7. A matinee performance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 8. Tickets are $15 for students and seniors (65+) and $20 for adults. This production contains some adult themes and is not recommended for young children.
