Commissioned by the Norman Rockwell Museum, “Music Through The Decades” is a fun-filled hour in which David Polansky tells how the last hundred-plus years of American and world history have inspired so many of the songs we love. Using keyboard, trumpet, and vocals, David presents the music of George M. Cohan, Fats Waller, Irving Berlin, Hoagy Carmichael, and a host of others -- music inspired by the advent of the automobile, the two world wars, the Roaring 20’s, the Great Depression, the Wild West, and much more. David takes questions, performs requests, and tells some very funny anecdotes about famous musicians, as well as some about his own life as a musician. The program will be held upstairs under the rotunda. Don't miss it!
