Zoya is a one-stop app for health and wellness information and services for girls and women and empowers them to make informed healthcare decisions for only themselves but their family as well. The app is the brainchild of a namesake animated character, Zoya who is a medical student who’s on a mission to bring healthcare awareness to all the girls across Pakistan. Lack of health and prevention awareness, poor medical and mobility infrastructure and cultural taboos all place girls at a particularly vulnerable place in society and threaten their very lives. In Pakistan, 51% of women aged 15-49 are anemic due to preventable reasons. Maternal Mortality is the second leading cause of death among adolescent girls aged 15-19. Around 11% of births worldwide. Zoya hopes to ensure that no more girls lose their lives due to lack of healthcare knowledge or access to a medical professional in Pakistan.
The app connects girls to critical health information and give ready access to service providers from the safety, privacy and convenience of one’s home. This way girls are empowered with knowledge and access to make informed healthcare and lifestyle decisions for themselves and their family.
