Gyrokinesis and Gaga workshop with guests teachers Smadar Goshen and Snunit Baraban:
Join us for a 5 hour workshop of body - wisdom and self - indulging through the GYROKINESIS® practice, Gaga method and Movement improvisation. We'll warm up with the intelligent approach of the GYROKINESIS®, fluid, dynamic movement method, based on the spiraling, circular movement patterns, created by Juliu Horvath as a tool meant to prevent injuries among dancers. Today, Gyrokinesis is a beautiful accessible movement method, beneficial for improving range of motion, core strength, blood and lymphatic stimulation and synchronizing all of the organic essential systems in the human body. Great for whoever wants to move with health and joy.
Then, we'll dive deeper into our dancing bodies with a Gaga session. Gaga is the movement language developed by Ohad Naharin. Gaga originated from Naharin’s need to communicate with his dancers and his curiosity in the ongoing research of movement. Gaga provides a framework for discovering and strengthening the body and adding flexibility, stamina, agility, and skills including coordination and efficiency while stimulating the senses and imagination.
After a short break we'll go on with a partnering movement improvisation, learning how listening to another moving body, can sometimes be, the best way of receiving information into our own bodies.

The Gyrokinesis Method is a movement method that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. It is an original and unique method, which coordinates movement, breath and mental focus.
GYROKINESIS® classes can be adapted to fit anyone's ability. People from all walks of life including accomplished athletes, fitness enthusiasts, senior citizens, and people recovering from an injury or dealing with a disability take Gyrokinesis classes. By the end of a Gyrokinesis session, one's entire system is awakened and brought into greater balance. Focus on the breath stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system resulting in a sense of calm, wellbeing and mental clarity.
Gaga is the movement language that was developed by Ohad Naharin throughout many years, parallel to his work as a choreographer and the artistic director of Batsheva Dance Company. The language of Gaga originated from the belief in the healing, dynamic, ever-changing power of movement.
Gaga classes are predicated on a deep listening to the body and to physical sensations. The instructions are deployed to increase awareness of and further amplify sensation, and rather than turning from one prompt to another, information is layered, building into a multisensory, physically challenging experience. While many instructions are imbued with rich imagery, the research of Gaga is fundamentally physical, insisting on a specific process of embodiment. Inside this shared research, the improvisational nature of the exploration enables each participant’s deeply personal connection with the language. Gaga provides a framework for discovering and strengthening the body and adding flexibility, stamina, agility, and skills including coordination and efficiency while stimulating the senses and imagination. The classes offer a workout that investigates form, speed, and effort while traversing additional spectrums such as those between soft and thick textures, delicacy and explosive power, and understatement and exaggeration. Participants awaken numb areas, increase their awareness of habits, and improve their efficiency of movement inside multilayered tasks, and they are encouraged to connect to pleasure inside moments of effort. The language of Gaga is in a continual process of evolution, and the classes vary and develop accordingly.
